Mrs. Mary Waller Davis, age 83, of Sandersville, died Sunday, September 9, 2018. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 12th at 4:00 p.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ben Davis, Benji Hodges, John Michael Hargrove Jr., Gary Mobley, Michael Hargrove, Mike Barnes, Bennett Barnes, Michael Barnes, Michael Robinson and Richie Aycock.
Mrs. Davis was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Charlie Tillman Waller and the late Mary Zelma Brantley Waller. She was retired from J.P. Stevens Textile Manufacturing and formerly worked for Perlings Clothing Store and Peachtree Salvage Company. Mrs. Davis was a member of Tabernacle Methodist Church and loved flowers and quilting. She is predeceased by husband, Bennett Albert Davis, grandson, Daniel Albert “D.J.” Davis Jr., and brother, Franklin Waller.
She is survived by her son, Danny Davis and his wife Avis of Sandersville; grandchildren, Ben Davis, Dianne Davis, Donna Hodges and her husband Benjie, Liz Beal, Louis Kenmar, Darlene Davis and Alicia Davis; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and sisters, Marion Waller of Tennille and Rubye W. Mobley of Sandersville.
The family will be at the Hodges residence 806 W. Church Street, Sandersville and they will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
