Mrs. Marie Lewis Waters, age 80, of Warthen, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Heritage Inn following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018, in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.  Reverend Weston Williford will officiate.

Mrs. Waters was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Newman Lewis and the late Louise Frazier Lewis.  She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Waters and her siblings, Newman Lewis, Jr., Sterling Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Eugene Lewis, Mable Norwood and Scottie Neal.  Mrs. Waters was a sales associate for Wal-Mart for over fourteen years and was a bus driver for the Washington County Board of Education for over ten years.  She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband of sixty six years, Franklin Waters; children, Buddy Waters of Tennille, Dean Waters of Warthen, Ronnie Waters and his wife Cheryl of Warthen, Donnie Waters and his wife Juanita of Tennille and Teresa Waters Williford and her husband Billy of Tennille; grandchildren, Jeff Waters, B. J. Waters, Dexter Waters, Stacey Smith, Ron Waters, Rhonda Todd, Dana Waters, Daniel Waters, Brad Crook, Brittany Williford and Dalton Williford; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and brother, Cecil Lewis.

The family will receive friends at the Waters residence, 463 Bussell Road from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday.
