JANICE “AUNT FISH” HODGES BIGGINS

Mrs. Jannie Hodges Biggins, affectionately called “Aunt Fish” and Aunt Jannie”, entered this world on June 1, 1924 to the parentage of the late Mr. Fred Hodges and the late Mrs. Lottie Hurst Hodges.  Funeral services were held on Friday, February 15, 2019, Rev. Jerry Walden, officiating.  Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sandersville, Georgia

She was educated in the public school system of Washington County.

Jannie met and married the late Mr. Adam Biggins.  Together, Jannie and Adam enjoyed nurturing their nieces, nephews and all they encountered. They took joy in worshipping at Tennille Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Biggins was known as the neighborhood entrepreneur, operating businesses from her home. She often helped those in need without financial consideration.

She departed this world on Saturday, February 9, 2019 to join in glory her sisters: Ms. Willie Mae Major, Mrs. Ocie Hodges Albert, Ms. Tressie Stiff, Mrs. Zeffie Hodges Jones, Ms. Wilhemina Lymon, Ms. Laura Devor; brothers: Mr. Fred Hodges, Mr. Raymond Hodges and Mr. Alton Johnson.

Mrs. Biggins leaves to cherish her memories two nieces: Mrs. Wanda (Lucious) Major-Atkinson, Ms. Nell Major-Jones; there nephews: Mr. Willie (Darlene) Major, Mr. Walter Major, Mr. Bobby Hodges; two brothers-in-law: Mr. MC Biggins, Mr. Timothy Biggins; two sisters-in-law: Ms. Eva Biggins, Ms. Amanda Biggins; adopted daughter: Mrs. Gail (Dean) Gilbert; a host of other relatives and friend.
