Mr. Arcephus Cannida passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, August 3, 2019. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at New Tennille A.M.E. Church with Rev. Pamela Hobbs officiating. Interment was held in the Jordan Station Cemetery.

Mr. Cannida was born September 29, 1934 in Tennille, Georgia to the parentage of the late Ms. Ola Mae Cannida and the late Mr. Cephus Gregory.

He attended Beach Grove School in Washington County. At an early age he joined Beach Grove Methodist Church where he served as superintendent of Sunday School until moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1964.

In 1955 he met Ms. Mary Helen Washington and on March 23, 1957, they were joined in holy matrimony. They shared sixty two (62) years of love.

Mr. Cannida worked as an International Long Shoreman  for many years . In 2004, him and his wife moved back to Tennille, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Mr. Alvin Chance.

Mr. Cannida leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife: Mrs. Mary Helen Cannida, Tennille, Georgia; devoted brother-in-law whom he reared: Mr. Tommie (Pamela) Washington, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three sisters-in-law: Ms. Barbara Washington Russell, Mrs. Marie (David) Ellison, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Mildred Demons, Tampa, Florida; four godchildren: Ms. Angela Long, Ms. Janice Patterson, Mr. Ricky White, Mr. Allen Hagans, Jr., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
