Mr. David Lamar Blue, age 68, of Tennille, died on Tuesday, August 13,2019, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 16 at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.  Reverend Larry Glover and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Stanley Barfield, Keith Andrews, Dean Lindsey, James Tanner, Michael Thompson, Shane Hart, Chris Lindsey and David Barnes.

Mr. Blue was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Thomas Lamar Blue and the late Mary Frances Todd Blue.  He was the husband of the late Vicki Lynn Hodges Blue and was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Blue Strickland and a brother, Jeff Blue.  Mr. Blue was a former heavy equipment operator for Taylor and Sons and Howard Sheppard Inc.  He was a member of  Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

Survivors are his daughters, Mary Kathryn Dollar and her husband David of Sandersville and Deborah Denise Prince and her husband Jason of Sandersville; grandchildren, Jacey Snell, Mollie Dollar, Ellie Dollar, Dakota Prince and Cam Dollar; sister, Susan Blue Starley of Milledgeville; brothers, Mike Blue and his wife Judy of Tennille and Scott Blue of Sandersville.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
