GEORGE MELVIN POLHEMUS

Mr. George Melvin Polhemus, age 85, of Elizabethton, TN., formerly of Dallas, GA., passed away Friday, October 4, 2019.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 2::00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverend Nathan Adams will officiate.

Mr. Polhemus was a native of Wayside, NJ., the son of the late Emory Polhemus and the late Evelyn McKelvey Polhemus.  He served his country in the US Army stationed at Ft. Hood TX.  Mr. Polhemus worked for EAI Electric Supply in Eaton Town, NJ. prior to relocating to the Atlanta area where he worked as the manager for AED Manufacturing.  He was a kind man with a great sense of humor who loved the outdoors, especially walking.  He is predeceased by his wife, Violete Garner Polhemus and his grandson, Lucus Polhemus.

Survivors are his son, George M. Polhemus Jr. and his wife Holly of Elizabethton, TN; step children, Anthony Scrivanich of FL., and Kathy Vassallie and her husband Raymond of NJ.; grandchildren, Nicole Sivilli and her husband Joe, R.J. Vassallie, Kristen Polhemus and Chlowe Polhemus; and great grandchildren, Amelia Polhemus and Joey Sivilli.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 at May and Smith Funeral Home.
