Mr. Calvin Gladdin, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Interment was held in church cemetery.

Mr. Gladdin was born on September 12, 1963 to the parentage of the late Mr. Sammie Gladdin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Willie Mae Lawrence Gladdin.

 

At an early age he joined Mount Olive Baptist Church. He attended the public schools of Washington County, Graduating with the class of 1981.

 

Mr. Gladdin enjoyed doing yard work and spending time with his family. He was known for cooking at Brown’s Barn, Brown’s Restaurant, which was later called Calvin’s Restaurant. For many years he worked at Hungry Hunter.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife: Mrs. Annie Dixon Gladdin; four sisters: Ms. Betty Mae Lawrence, Ms. Pinkie Mae Lawrence, Ms. Annie Lee Gladdin, Ms. Zenia Gladdin and one brother: Mr. Jefferson Gladdin.

 

Mr. Gladdin leaves to cherish his memories four step daughters: Ms. Brenda Stevens, Ms. Natita Shaw, Ms. Christine Thomas, Mrs. Keisha (Robert) Edwards; one stepson: Mr. Doug ( Tammy) Stevens; four sisters: Ms. Amanda Lawrence, Ms. Annie Julia Gladdin, Ms. Virginia Gladdin, Ms. Carolyn Gladdin; two brothers: Mr. Sammie (Viola) Gladdin, Jr., Mr. William (Mary Ann) Gladdin; devoted niece: Ms. Ashley Peeler; devoted friends: Mr. Phillip Ivey, Mr. Mose Darrisaw, Mr. Terry Lord, Ms. Gladys Wiley, a host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
