Peggy Lyle Ethridge, 89, of Cuthbert died Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center in Cuthbert.  The family will have a visitation Friday, February 28 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Lunsford Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 29 at 1:00 PM at Warthen United Methodist Cemetery, Bethlehem Baptist Church Road, Warthen, GA, where she will be interred beside her father and mother.

Peggy Ethridge was born on January 25, 1931, in Englewood, NJ, the daughter of the late Grady Lyle Ethridge and the late Pearl Lanier Ethridge.  Peggy was sister of the late Anne Ethridge Dunbar of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and sister of Beryl Ethridge Rigsby of Cuthbert   After graduating from high school in Sandersville, Peggy was recruited as a clerk-typist for the federal government and went to work at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC.   It was there that she met her future husband, the late Emil Fabian Hracek, and they had three children.  A son, Steven Lyle Hracek of Cuthbert passed away in 2012.  Peggy has lived in Cuthbert for most of the last 18 years.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Franklin Ethridge of Cuthbert, a daughter, Peggy Hracek Wampler of Manassas, VA, four grandchildren – Steven Lyle Hracek II, Kelly Hracek Hoff, David Lyle Wampler, and Alan Michaei Wampler – and three great-grandchildren.

Prior to years of health problems, Peggy was a devoted member of the church, expert pie maker, gracious host to all, and throughout, the best loving mother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
