Mrs. Marion Palmer Copeland, age 92, of Tennille, died on Friday March 27, 2020 at Wrightsville Manor Health and Rehab following an extended illness. A private family graveside memorial service will be held at Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Pastor Weston Williford will officiate.

Mrs. Copeland was born in Bartow, Georgia on November 27, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Edd C. Copeland and the late Louise Coleman Palmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan W. (Buddy) Copeland, Jr and her son, Eddy Copeland. She was a graduate of Tennille High School and Bessie Tift College. During her years of work, she was employed by the Washington County Memorial Hospital where she worked in the Medical Records department for many years. Later she worked in the office at Surgical Associates for Drs. Rawlings and Helton.

She was a faithful and dedicated member of Tennille Baptist Church her entire life. She served there in many different areas. Her happiness came from loving her family and helping others.

She is survived by a daughter, Celeste Copeland Wood and her husband Franklin of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Andrea W. Hendley and her husband Brian, Kathryn W. Harvey and her husband Andrew, Krista C. Lane and her husband Robbie and Travis Copeland and his wife Kerri, seven great grandchildren and another soon to be born great-grandchild.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers donations be made to Tennille Zeta Cemetery Trust Fund, P. O. Box 1, Tennille, Georgia 31089 or The Gideons International, P.O. Box 891, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
