Mr. Leonard Taylor Hart, age 67, of Tennille died on Sunday, March 29, 2020 in a local hospital. A private graveside service for Mr. Hart will be held in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Harris will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ron Rhodes, Seth Rhodes, Cody Rhodes, Keith Rhodes, Terrell Weatherford, and Michael Hart. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 31 from 2-4 pm at May & Smith Funeral home in groups of 10 or less.

Mr. Hart was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Milton Taylor Hart and the late Eula Veal Hart. He earned an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Tech. Mr. Hart was a retired administrative officer for the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member, Deacon and Choir member of Smyrna Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School. Leonard loved hunting and fishing and playing a round of golf with his friends at Twin City Country Club. Leonard also loved and breathed softball. He especially loved watching his grandkids playing sports.

Survivors are his wife, Cheryl R. Hart of Tennille; sons, Shane P. Hart and his wife Missy of Deepstep and Jason M. Hart and his wife Carlene of Tennille; grandchildren, Carson Hart, Carly Hart, Madison Hart, Faith Hart, Haley Hart and Tristan Hart; sister, Millie Osteen and her husband Melvin of Milledgeville and a brother, Billy Hart of Deepstep.
