Mr. William Miller, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center, Sandersville, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Davis officiating. 


He was born on May 18, 1941 in Sandersville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mrs. Bertha Lee Miller-Smith and the late Mr. Robert Lee Maxwell.
On August 6, 1967, he married Ms. Danny Mae Reese. They raised two sons, Christopher Bernard and Derrick. Mr. Miller had a passion for playing the guitar and he loved gardening, fishing and hunting.  In May 1969, he started working for Howard Sheppard Trucking Company. After 38 years of service at Howard Sheppard Trucking Company, WM retired in December 2007. During his retirement years, he valued the time he spent with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son: Mr. Christopher Bernard Miller; one brother: Mr. Emory Smith, Sr. and a devoted aunt: Ms. Helen Miller.

 

Mr. Miller leaves to cherish his memories his wife of fifty-two years : Mrs. Danny Reese Miller, Sandersville, Georgia; two sons: Mr. Derrick Miller, San Antonio, Texas,  Mr. Bobbie Ray Wright, New Jersey; one devoted adopted daughter: Ms. Yvette Michelle Reese, Tucker, Georgia; one daughter: Ms. Rita Faye Dixon, Atlanta, Georgia; one brother: Mr. Eugene Smith, Jr, Sandersville, Georgia;  two brothers-in-law: Mr. Eddie Yorker, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. David Reese, Brentwood, New York; one sister-in-law:  Mrs. Shirley Reese, Sandersville, Georgia; eleven nieces: Ms. Kimberly Cuyler, Snellville, Georgia, Ms. Keandria Martin, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Ms. Johnnie Mae Smith,   Mrs. Linda (Raymond) Stafford, Ms. Jeannette Reese, Ms. Jaquetta Rawls, Ms. Yvette Foster, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Pattie Ann Armstrong, Tennille, Georgia, Mrs. Shirley (Carlos) Centenio, Tampa,  Florida,  Ms. Brandi Reese, Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. April Reese, Brentwood, New York, ; twelve  nephews: Mr. Eric (Altomese) Jones, Texas, Mr. Robert Rawls, Stanford, North Carolina,  Mr. Edwin (Comise) Yorker, Mr. Emory (Gwen) Smith, Jr., Mr. Curtis (Temeka) Reese, III, Mr. Stacey Reese, Mr. Shawn Smith, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Alton Reese, Hattiesburg, Mississippi,  Mr. Preston Smith, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Kenneth (Shaquana) Reese, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. David Reese, Jr, Brentwood, New York, Mr.  Michael James, Atlanta, Georgia ; three uncles: Mr. Roy Miller, Bristol, Pennsylvania, Mr. Eddie Lee Miller, Sr., Mr. OJ Miller, Sandersville, Georgia; four granddaughters: Mrs. Shenerika (Tidus) Brown, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Zaheir Miller, Ms. Marika Dixon, Atlanta, Georgia,  Ms. Imani Daniels, Tucker, Georgia; three grandsons: Mr. Khalis (Georgette) Hall, Ft Lauderdale, Florida; Mr. Jamaz Hall, Mr. Obataiye Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia; ten great-grandchildren: Latenique Burton, Elijah Brown, Tennille, Georgia,  Zaniyah Miller, Cario Jordan, Dajuan Dixon, Anaiya Evans, Kamari Dixon, Ka-el Dixon, Atlanta, Georgia, Vahaire Dixon, Aliviyah Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia; the Cooper, Hillcrest and Wiggins Street families, and a host of other relatives and friends.
