Mrs. Mary Nancy Elton Henry, 88, of Hawkinsville, Ga. passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. Due to current government restrictions, a graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in Orange Hill Cemetery with Dr. Don McClung officiating.
Mrs. Henry was a native of Washington County, Ga. and a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women and was a retired teacher having taught in the Hawkinsville and Pulaski County School Systems. She was a member of the Hawkinsville Lioness Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Henry; sons, Bobby Ray Henry, Tracey Lee Henry; sisters, Ellen Elton Hitchcock, Loma Elton Hitchcock and a brother, Edwin Elton.
Survivors include her sons, Brian (Terry) Henry of Troy, Alabama, Billy “Byrd” Elton (Susan) Henry of Hawkinsville, Ga.; brother, Truit Elton of Tennille, Ga.; grandson, Lance (Lexi) Henry of Warner Robins, Ga.; 3 great-grandchildren ; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hawkinsville First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
