Deadline to Register to Vote in January Runoff is Monday

The last day to register to vote in the two U.S. Senate runoff elections is Monday, December 7.

To register to vote in these elections, you can visit the Washington County Elections Office at 132 W. Haynes Street, Room 108 in the Washington County Courthouse. Registration is also available online at mvp.sos.ga.gov/

As previously reported by WACO 100, with the November 3, election, no candidate received a majority of votes in the two U.S. Senate races, which requires a runoff election.

In the General Run-off Election for U.S. Senate, Incumbent Republican candidate David Perdue will face Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff.

In the Special General Runoff Election for U.S. Senate to fill the unexpired term of Sen. Johnny Isakson’s term, Republican candidate Kelly Loeffler will face Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock.

Early voting for this election will begin on Monday, December 14 and end on Thursday, December 31. Hours for Early voting will be Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Due to the holidays, the Early voting dates are as follows: December 14-18, December 21-23, and December 28-31.

To request an Absentee Ballot Application for the January 5 elections, voters can call the Washington County Elections Office at 478-552-5239 or visit ballotrequest.sos.ga.gov

The runoff election is scheduled for Tuesday, January 5. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
