Mr. James H. “Kojak” Clark, age 74, of Sandersville passed away on Friday March 12, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.

A memorial service for Mr. Clark will be held on Tuesday, March 16 at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Reverend Brian Welch and Reverend Roger Holley will officiate.

Mr. Clark was a native of Hancock County, the son of the late James H. Clark, Sr. and the late Rowena Boyer Clark. He was a 1964 graduate of Sparta High School. Mr. Clark was a certified law enforcement officer. He worked for the Sandersville Police Department and was instrumental in the initial operation of the 911 center. He also worked for the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and the drug task force. Mr. Clark was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association.

Survivors are his wife, Sue Ellen Clark of Sandersville; two daughters, Candace Clark Kennedy and her husband Alan of Tennille and Michelle Carr of Sandersville; three grandchildren, Colton Kennedy and his wife Taylor, Jacob Kennedy and his wife Abbey, and Jackson Durden; two great-grandchildren, Tatum Kennedy and Carter Kennedy; and a brother, Michael Clark and his wife Leann of Eatonton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
