Mr. Roy Colledge Etheridge, age 94, of 2417 Highway 242, Sandersville, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his residence. A private graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Mr. Etheridge was the son of the late Minor J. Etheridge and the late Cleo Jenkins Etheridge. He was the husband of the late Hilda Cummings Etheridge. A World War II Veteran, Mr. Etheridge served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from DuPont with over 36 years of service. He enjoyed several years of working in concessions at The Masters golf tournament.
Mr. Etheridge was a member of Sandersville United Methodist Church, a past member of The Sandersville Lions Club, and a member of Twin Cities Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mae E. Moody, and four brothers, Minor J. Etheridge, Jr., Eunious Jackson Etheridge, Otis Etheridge, and Lloyd Etheridge.
Survivors include his son, Ken Etheridge (Jean) of Augusta; granddaughters, Casey Bradford ( Tim) of Atlanta and Kelly Etheridge of Nashville, Tennessee; great-grandsons, Tim Bradford and Will Bradford, a sister, Virginia Etheridge Davis of Tennille; and great-grand-dog Jasper, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from on Saturday 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
