
John Adams, Matthew Ivey, and Devonte Petty were sworn-in as Sandersville Police Officers by Sandersville Mayor Jimmy Andrews on Friday, March 26.
The three officers graduated from the Police Academy in Forsyth earlier Friday morning after completing 11 weeks of training.
“It takes special people to go into law enforcement and public safety, especially this day and time,” said Sandersville Mayor Andrews.
With the oath, Officer Adams, Officer Ivey, and Officer Petty all agreed to faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of a sworn law enforcement officer of the City of Sandersville.
The officers vowed to obey all policies and procedures of the police department of the City of Sandersville, and the ordinances of the City of Sandersville, and the laws and Constitution of the State of Georgia and the United States, both while on-duty and off-duty.
Sandersville Police Department’s mission is to Defend and Protect the rights and safety of those who live, work and visit in the City of Sandersville, Georgia.
