Mr. Emory Dean Bowen, age 71, of Riddleville passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Navicent Health in Milledgeville. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Bowen’s life will be held on Sunday, April 25 at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend M.D. Cabe and Reverend Larry Glover will officiate.
Mr. Bowen, known by all who knew him as Dean, was born in Sandersville to the late Horace Emory Bowen and the late Laura Bell McCoy Bowen. Dean was a simple man who worked extremely hard to provide for his family. He was a long-time employee of Howard Sheppard Trucking Company and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Dean deeply loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his son Allen and grandchildren Kabe and Emmy.
Survivors include his son, Allen Bowen of Sandersville; grandson, Kaleb “Kabe” Bowen; and granddaughter, Emaree “Emmy” Bowen.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
