Sandersville Mayor & Council Honor Wayne Poole

For 45 years, Wayne Poole has served the citizens of Sandersville through the City’s Electric Department.

At the Monday, May 17 Sandersville City Council meeting, Mayor Jimmy Andrews and the Sandersville City Council recognized Poole, who is retiring as the City’s Director of the Electric Department.

During his tenure with the City of Sandersville Electric Department Wayne Poole has worked diligently to improve the services provided to our current residents, businesses and industries while also extending services to new customers,” said Sandersville Mayor Andrews when recognizing Poole.

Mayor Andrews went on to say that while serving as Director of the City of Sandersville Electric Department, Poole has been a credit to his profession and to the City by representing the City of Sandersville professionally and with integrity while providing services to residents, businesses, and industries.

“As Electric Director, Wayne [Poole] has worked to make significant improvements to the working conditions for our Electric Department employees, while implementing training standards and upgrading and replacing equipment to ensure the safety of our employees and the reliability of service to all of the City’s electric customers,” stated Mayor Andrews.

Poole began working in the City of Sandersville’s Electric Department in February of 1976; he was named Director of the Electric Department in January of 1989.

During the Monday, May 17 City Council meeting, Poole was presented with a framed resolution recognizing his service to the City.

“We wish to recognize Wayne Poole for his outstanding leadership and service to the citizens of this City for more than 45 years, and to extend best wishes to him and his family for a happy and successful future,” said Mayor Andrews when presenting the resolution.
