Wilcox to Speak at Local Memorial Day Program

The Washington County Memorial Day Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 31 at 10:45 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse square in Sandersville.

This year’s speaker is Gregory Wilcox.

Wilcox is a native of Washington County; he is a graduate of Washington County High School, and went on to attend Fort Valley State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science.

Wilcox is a United States Army Veteran. During his time in the Army, Wilcox served in Berlin, West Germany (before the Wall came down), and the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

Gregory Wilcox returned to Washington County where he was employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He currently serves as Chairman of the Tennille Grove Baptist Church Deacon Board.

The local Memorial Day program is sponsored annually by the American Legion Post 94 and American Veterans Post 110.
