Tina Smith Prince, age 46, of Sandersville, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 10th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville. Reverend Joe Crosby, Reverend Danny Thomas, and Reverend Chad Waller will officiate. The family will greet friends following the memorial service at the church.

Tina was born in Dekalb County and reared in both Washington County and Columbia County, where she graduated from Lakeside High School. She graduated from Georgia College and State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and later obtained her master’s degree in education. Most recently, Tina worked as a first-grade teacher at Ridge Road Primary School in Sandersville. She possessed a true and genuine love for her students, often going “extra miles” to ensure their well-being. Tina was a member of the Legacy Church. She loved camping, fishing, and travelling, especially to the mountains and beach. Her favorite flower was a sunflower, which was fitting considering the light she brought to the lives of many. Tina is preceded in death by her grandfather, Louie Hitchcock.

Survivors include her daughters, Amanda Brooke Prince and her spouse Jayden of Indiana and MacKenzie Sheree Prince and her fiancé Timothy Kevin Newborn of Sandersville; grandchildren, Allena, Thea, Kendall, and Timothy Kyle; parents, Louis and Kay H. Smith of Sandersville; sister, Sharon Marie S. Beal and her husband Patrick of Tennille; nephews, Austin Beal and Ryan Beal; and grandmother, Ruby Hitchcock of Sandersville.
