Man Charged in Fatal Head-on Collision

41-year-old Charles Moss of Sandersville has been charged in a head-on collision that claimed one in April of this year.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, Moss was charged last week with homicide by vehicle in the first degree – felony; no proof of insurance – misdemeanor; possession of open alcohol container – misdemeanor; failure to maintain lane – misdemeanor; driving under the influence of alcohol – misdemeanor; and registration and license requirements – misdemeanor.

As previously reported by WACO 100, the fatal head-on collision occurred on Sunday, April 11 between the hours of 12:40 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Highway 231 at McCoy Pond Road between Davisboro and Riddleville.

Georgia State Patrol was requested to investigate the fatal collision. According to their report, 28-year-old Janesha Shanae Little of Wrens was traveling southbound in a Chevrolet Cruze on Highway 231; Charles Moss, was traveling north in a Honda Accord on Georgia Highway 231 when he crossed the centerline into the southern lanes of the highway. Moss’ vehicle struck Little’s Chevrolet Cruz head-on.

Little was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger in Little’s Chevrolet Cruze was transported by ambulance; Moss, who was not restrained at the time of the motor vehicle accident, suffered serious injuries.
