Deputies Investigating Drive-by Shooting in Tennille

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Friday evening shooting that occurred in the City of Tennille.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, three  individuals are being treated for gunshot wounds by emergency personnel. He stated that two individuals sustained non-life threatening injuries, while one individual was transported to a trauma unit in Augusta.

Shortly before 11 p.m., Washington County Sheriff Cochran reported that Georgia Highway 15 South between Old Savannah Road and Indian Hill Road (south of Tennille) is closed to all traffic for an undetermined amount of time while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Scene Technicians and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office work this area.

“This emergency closure is a result of a drive by shooting that recently occurred,” said Sheriff Cochran when referencing the Friday, June 18 shooting. He added, “We are sorry for this inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience.”
