Mrs. Clara Johnson Lindsey, age 73, of Sandersville passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at her residence. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, September 24th at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Glover officiating.
Clara was born in Milledgeville and reared in the community of Linton, where she attended school. Mrs. Lindsey was the daughter of the late Malcom Henry Johnson and the late Mattie Lizzie Radney Johnson. Her working career included an initial job in retail before working in transportation as a bus driver for the Washington County Board of Education. Clara also formerly co-owned and operated Lindsey’s Sea Food Market in Tennille. Mrs. Lindsey’s favorite hobbies included fishing and cooking for her family and friends. She possessed a giving spirit, and her memory will forever be cherished by friends and family.
Survivors include her children, Johnny L. Crabb and his wife Deborah of Clarksville, Lisa Ann Yates of Sandersville, and Terri D. Johnson of Sandersville; five grandchildren; and sisters, Rosa J. Warren and Betty J. Mazzanti both of Milledgeville.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 24th at the May & Smith Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M.
