Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran is encouraging the public to report any suspicious activities they may witness following a rash of illegal entering of autos in multiple areas of Washington County.

In a news release dated Tuesday, September 28, Sheriff Cochran explained that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of entering auto incidents that occurred on Sunday, September 26 and Monday, September 27.

According to Sheriff Cochran, the North Lake Drive area was targeted on Sunday night, and the Pringle area of Washington County was targeted on Monday evening.

Sheriff Cochran stated that Washington County Sheriff’s Investigators are actively working these cases to identify the suspects.

In addition, Sheriff Cochran reminded citizens to remove all valuables, especially firearms from their vehicles. Another deterrent is to lock their doors, as well.

When discussing the importance of the community’s assistance in solving cases such as entering auto incidents, Sheriff Cochran remarked that the most helpful rule is “if you see something, say something.”

“This encourages people to report suspicious activities, tips or crimes by calling 9-1-1,” said Washington County Sheriff Cochran.
