Two individuals were arrested last week following an investigation into illegal drug activity based on citizen complaints.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, the investigation was a collaborative effort between the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force.

On Thursday, September 30, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force arrested 36-year-old Maurice Lee Stevens of Tennille and 35-year-old Reginald Alan Henderson of Harrison.

“The men were both taken into custody following a search of Steven’s residence,” said Sheriff Cochran.

Maurice Stevens, 36, of Tennille was charged with two counts of Sale of Cocaine, Possession of Crack with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, Obstruction of an Officer, and Possession of Schedule IV pills (Xanax) with Intent to Distribute.

Reginald Henderson, 35, of Harrison was charged with three Counts of Probation Violation, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Crack Cocaine.

Washington County Sheriff Cochran explained that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office welcomes tips from citizens.

“If you know anyone selling drugs, we welcome that information, and your name can remain anonymous,” said Sheriff Cochran.
