For nearly seven years, Jason Davis represented District 4 on the Sandersville City Council.
In November of 2021, Davis announced his resignation from the Sandersville City Council, citing his family’s recent move outside the city limits of Sandersville.
During the Monday, December 20 Sandersville City Council meeting, those in attendance recognized Jason Davis for his numerous contributions to the City while serving as an elected official.
In the absence of Mayor Jimmy Andrews, Mayor Pro-Tem Jeffery Smith presented Davis with a framed resolution in appreciation for Davis’ service.
“During his tenure as a Council Member, Jason Davis worked to improve the services provided to our residents and businesses while maintaining a low millage rate and reducing the cost of services,” said Mayor Pro-Tem Jeffery Smith. He added, “He has also worked to make significant improvements in the working conditions for our employees, while adopting policies and procedures and upgrading and replacing equipment to ensure the reliability of service to all residents and businesses in the City of Sandersville.”
While serving on the Sandersville City Council, Davis was also the City’s representative on the Sandersville Downtown Development Authority, a position he held for more than six years.
“As a Council Member of the City of Sandersville, Jason Davis has been a credit to his district and to this City representing the citizens professionally and with integrity,” said Mayor Pro-Tem Smith when presenting the resolution to Davis.
Davis began serving on the Sandersville City Council on November 17 of 2014.
Jason Davis’s wife and children joined him during the December 20 recognition ceremony.
