Mr. Melvin Jaquise Rogers, affectionately known as “Baldie,” entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022, in the Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. Reverend Jerry Walden will officiate.
Melvin Rogers was born on May 18, 1990, to the parentage of Mr. James Edward Rogers and Ms. Mary Ann Carswell. He attended the public schools of Washington County. Mr. Rogers was a friendly man, who loved to lend a helping hand to all in need. Melvin loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ms. Lena Bell Carswell; paternal grandparents, Mr. Johnny Rogers, Sr. and Ms. Daisy Rogers; and uncle, Mr. Wayne Rogers.
Mr. Rogers leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Ms. Mary Ann Carswell of Sandersville; father, Mr. James (Christine) Edward Rogers of Tennille; brothers, James Rogers, Jr. of Sandersville and Javen Rogers of Harrison; sister, Shanice Brooks of Tennille; aunts, Pat Darrisaw, Tennille, Ann Marie Rogers, Tennille, Nicole Hill, Shirley Roberson, Tennille, Annie (Eddie) Moye, Harrison, Ruby (Austell) Arline, Wrightsville, Neomia Sanders, Macon, and Alfonzy Dixon, Tennille; nine uncles: Johnny (Pearl) Rogers, Tennille, Casey (Sue) Rogers, Tennille, Andy Rogers, Tennille, Tommy (Sheryl) Carswell, Sandersville, Melvin Carswell, Tennille, Marion (Step) Carswell, Wrightsville, Arther Lee Dixon, Sandersville, Willie Dixon, Augusta, and McKendrell Carswell, Sandersville; devoted friend, Kasandra Roberson; three great-aunts, Ms. Lizzie Purvey, Tennille, Ms. Ola Wiggins, Tennille, and Ms. Katrina Rice of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Centers for Disease Control guidelines for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, including the wearing of face masks and the practicing of social distancing will be required.
