Shamrock the Block this St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown Sandersville

Grab your green and enjoy the scene during “Shamrock the Block” in downtown Sandersville on St. Patrick’s Day – Thursday, March 17 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

“This will be the first Third Thursday event for the Sandersville Main Street,” explained Sandersville Economic Development Director Andrew Simpson, adding that Main Street is working on Third Thursday events for June and September, as well.

Sandersville Main Street’s first Third Thursday festivities scheduled for Thursday, March 17 will feature food, live music, shopping, and little leprechaun activities.

According to Sandersville Economic Development Director Simpson, a shamrock scavenger hunt will take place around the square on Thursday afternoon; those in attendance are encouraged to watch where they walk, and to bring shamrocks to the Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s booth that will be setup in Thiele Park for a prize.

Downtown businesses will feature specials for Shamrock the Block; some of the businesses participating include: the newly opened Pickle Barrel Café, WACO CBD, Geo’s Quarters, The Georgian, Arabella’s Salon & Spa, Glow Boutique & More, and Queensborough National Bank and Trust.

In addition, the Country Buffet will be open from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. during Shamrock the Block featuring an Irish-themed meal to warm your belly.

The Sandersville Farmers Market will also be open during the event!

The little leprechaun activities, sponsored by the Washington County 4-H will take place in Thiele Park.
