The Washington County Ag Center Rodeo is returning next weekend for the third year.

This year’s family-friendly excitement will take place on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 at the Washington County Ag Center on Grady Mertz Road in Tennille.

As with the previous two rodeos, Hedrick Rodeo Company of Madisonville, Tennessee will produce the 2022 Washington County Ag Center Rodeo.

The Washington County Ag Center Rodeo is sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association and the Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association. The sanctioned contest events for the Washington County Ag Center Rodeo include: Bareback Riding, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Bull Riding and Break Away Roping.

The Inaugural Ag Center Rodeo held in 2019 and the second Ag Center Rodeo in 2021 were well received in Washington County – an estimated 2,200 people attended these events each year.

Proceeds from the rodeo are used to maintain the Washington County Ag Center, promote Ag in the Community and Classroom and support 4-H and FFA.

“We are grateful to our many sponsors who have firmly supported us and this event,” said Washington County Ag Center Rodeo Committee Chairman Eddy Turner.

Tickets for the Washington County Ag Center are $15 for adults and $10 for youth at the gate. Children under six are admitted free of charge. Advance tickets are available at a reduced price at Smith Farm Supply.

Gates open on Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m.; the Rodeo starts at 7 p.m. at the Washington County Ag Center located at 882 Grady Mertz Road in Tennille.
