Mr. Marvin Cato, age 49, of Sandersville passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville. Graveside funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 1:00 P.M. in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Roy Grissom will officiate.
Mr. Cato was born on May 27, 1972, in Augusta. He was the first-born child of Bennie Poole, Sr. and Sarah Mae Jones of Sandersville. Marvin was known as a free spirit, who enjoyed traveling to different states. Mr. Cato was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Etta Mae Young Cato; maternal aunt, Mrs. Linda Mae Smith; and paternal uncle, Mr. Alton “Duck” Stephens.
Marvin is survived by his children, Markaylee Cato and Kevis Mack of Sandersville; mother, Sarah Jones of Sandersville; father, Bennie Poole, Sr. of Sandersville; sister, Rakita Jones of Atlanta; nephew, Montavious Butts of Atlanta; brothers, Christopher Poole and Bennie Poole, Jr. of Sandersville; grandmother, Gladys Poole; grandfather, Hubert Lee Cato; niece, Jakita Murray of Atlanta; and a host of other relatives and friends.
