Mrs. Stanley, affectionately known as Debbie, was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Pete Hodges and Geraldine Hodges. She was member of Brentwood School’s inaugural graduating class of 1971. Following a brief stint in the Atlanta area, Debbie returned to Sandersville for work with her father operating Motel Clinton Restaurant and The Steak House. Mrs. Stanley was also employed as Programs Administrator at the Washington County Health Department. By working in the public eye for numerous years, she was known by many for her sweet smile and soft southern voice. Debbie was a devoted mother and servant-hearted woman, always putting her children and others first. Mrs. Stanley sought to glorify her God in all walks of her life. With compassion and empathy towards others, she would seek to find the good within all. “Do your best and let the Lord do the rest” was a favorite quote passed to Debbie from her grandmother. Mrs. Stanley most valued and cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert E. “Pete” Hodges.

Survivors include her mother, Geraldine Hodges; her children, Brian (Carmen) Stanley of Atlanta, Amy (John) Stevick of Warner Robins, and Ray Stanley of Savannah; grandchildren, Pete Stanley, Paul Stanley, Mary Catherine Stanley, Meredith Stanley, Matthew Stevick, and Daniel Stevick; and siblings, David Green, Lynne Beal, Robin (Steve) Black, Joanna Powell, and Lee (Toni) Hodges.
