Mrs. Carolyn Howard Brown, age 73, of Warthen passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the Heritage Inn of Sandersville. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, August 8th at 11:00 A.M. in the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Warthen with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Sandersville. Reverend Anthony Baker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lee Armour, Jackson Collins, Kelly Collins, Eric McNure, Dwayne McNure, and Barry Morris. The family will greet friends on Sunday, August 7 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home.

Carolyn was born in Washington, Georgia, the daughter of the late Leonard Howard and the late Louise Fouche Howard. She was reared in Washington and graduated high school in Crawfordville. Mrs. Brown was a trained Emergency Medical Technician and began her working career with the Taliaferro County Health Department and Wilkes County Emergency Medical Services. Carolyn was the wife of the late Victor M. Brown, Jr. Following their marriage, she moved to Washington County where began a lengthy career at the Washington County Regional Medical Center, retiring as Director of Washington County Emergency Medical Services. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Carolyn took great pride in the upkeep of her yards. She enjoyed collecting dolls, crocheting, designing flower arrangements, and playing the piano. Mrs. Brown cherished time spent with her family, especially playing card games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carolyn is preceded in death by her son, Joey Armour; and sister, Jean Brown.

Survivors include her children, Tonya McNure of Sandersville, Henry Armour and wife Dana of Warthen, and Vicki Collins and husband Chad of Warthen; grandchildren, Dwayne McNure, Ashley McNure, Eric McNure, Sierra McNure, Michael Lee Armour, Beth Armour, Jackson Collins, and Natalie Collins; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Hal Howard and wife Jeanette of Washington, Lee Howard and wife Beverly of Washington, Ricky Howard and wife Cathy of Washington, and Marie Smith of Covington.
