Mrs. Betty Elton Brantley, age 91, of Tennille passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center Extended Care Facility. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 20 in the Zeta Cemetery of Tennille. Reverend Dr. Brian Welch will officiate. The family will greet friends on Monday September 19 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brantley was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late James Elton and the late Gussie Cochran Elton. She was the loyal and loving wife of the late Charles Brantley. Betty was a longtime employee of the Washington Manufacturing Company as a Machine Operator. Mrs. Brantley was a dedicated member of Tennille Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joycelyn Smith, Nell Bowen, Frances Boyd, Sybil Hooks, Jackie Hooks, and James Newman Elton.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Turner of Eatonton; and sister, Dot Elton Sibley of Milledgeville.
