Cowboy Cape

Capers Brazzell began his broadcasting career at the age of 8 helping his father, Cleatus, “rip and read” news and weather from a teletype machine. At age 11 he started helping set up equipment for broadcasting sporting events. By the time he was 16 he had an hour-long afternoon program on WELP in Easley, SC. He continued to follow broadcasting by helping at the University of South Carolina-owned FM outlet.

His father bought stations in Waynesboro, Swainsboro and Sandersville from country artist Webb Pierce in 1977, and Cowboy Cape moved to Swainsboro in 1980 as General Manager for the group. He began working full-time at WSNT in 1996.

Today he remains General Manager for WSNT AM/FM and does the “Wake Up WACO” show on WACO 100 from 6-10 every Monday-Friday.
