Mr. Robert Edward Gross, age 75, of Tennille, died Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21st at 11:00 a.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Davisboro City Cemetery with military honors.  Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate.  The Family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Gross was born in Emanuel County and reared in Chelsea Massachusetts. He is the son of the late Abraham Gross and the late Bessie Stevens Gross Braddon.  After graduating high school, he enlisted and began a career in the US Air Force where he would retire with the rank of Chief Master Sargent.    Mr. Gross served during Viet Nam and worked as an Electronic Tele Communicator Installer during the “cold war”.  After retirement from the Military, he resided in Manassas Virginia where he worked for Halifax Engineering.  Lastly, Mr. Gross returned to Georgia to be near family where he owned and operated R.E.G. Service, a home improvement and repair service .

Survivors are his wife Maxine M. Gross of Tennille; children, Robert W. Gross of Milledgeville, Randy E. Gross and his wife Terresa of Rutledge, Rosanne G. Maneksha and her husband Rustom of Dunwoody and Rebecca G. Walker and her husband Scott of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Abigail Elizabeth Gross, Cylus Alexander Gross, Remy Emerson Walker, Ava Rose Maneksha and Ella James Maneksha; brother, Wayne Gross of Sandersville; sister, Anne G. Mourlot of Fayetteville, NC.; and niece and nephews.

The family will be at the Gross residence on Hwy. 68, South, Tennille.
