
Mrs. Nell Joiner Gibson Griffall, age 92, of Warner Robins, formerly of Wrightsville, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 following an extended illness. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church south of Tennille with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Reggie Joiner will officiate. Mrs. Griffall’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as her pallbearers.
Mrs. Griffall was born in Johnson County and raised in the Bethany Community, the daughter of the late Charlie Joiner and the late Clyde Deal Joiner. She was a longtime resident of Warner Robins where she raised her family and worked as a kindergarten teacher at Second Baptist Church Preschool where she was a member. Mrs. Griffall was the longtime host of “Christian Children’s Hour”, a local weekly radio show for children. She retired home to Johnson County where she worked as a secretary for Joiner Heating and Air and was an active member of the Riddleville Baptist Church where she a member of the “Praying Grannies”. Both sewing for her children and friends and clogging were two of her favorite hobbies. Mrs. Griffall is predeceased by her husbands: Elmer Gibson and Peter Griffall Jr.
Survivors include: her daughters, Lynda Gibson Hickmon and her husband George of Warner Robins, and Janice Gibson Leverette and her husband Frank of Apollo Beach FL.; grandchildren: Jason Leverett and his wife Joanna, Angela Leverett Reader and her husband Rusty, Deidra Hickmon Pendleton and her husband Bill, Shelby Hickmon Woods and her husband Marc and Wesley Hickmon and his wife Sandy; twelve great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and brothers: Rufus Joiner of Wrightsville and Charles Joiner and his wife Glenda of Statesboro.
