Mrs. Martha Jean Henderson, age 76, of Sandersville died on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 27 at White Oak Church, near Davisboro, with burial in White Oak Cemetery. Reverend Ray Henderson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Thomas Glover, John Brantley, Nicholas Henderson, Luke Henderson, Daniel Henderson, Armando Segura and Troy Morgan.
Mrs. Henderson was a native of Jefferson County, Georgia, the daughter of the late William Wesley Goodwin and the late Mattie Rowland Goodwin. She was a graduate of Louisville Academy Class of 1961. Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker and a licensed beautician. She was a pre-school teacher and secretary for Sisters Baptist Church for over twenty-four years. She was a member of White Oak Church and a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors are her husband, Reverend Dewey Henderson of Sandersville; three daughters, Sandy Henderson Brantley of Sandersville, Susan Henderson Glover and her husband Jody of North Augusta, Julie Henderson Palmer and her husband Derek of Martinez; a son, Ray Henderson, Jr. and his wife Tara of North Augusta; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Cullars and her husband Glenn of Milledgeville; two brothers, Jimmy Goodwin and his wife Patsy of Louisville, and Bill Goodwin and his wife Carla of Hinesville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
