Mr. James Dennis Boyd III, age 69, of Dublin, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 24 in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Reverend Marty Deal will officiate.
Mr. Boyd was a native of Washington County, the son of the late James Dennis Boyd, Jr. and the late Ella Frances Smith Boyd. He was preceded in death by his sister, Claire Boyd Brett. He was a licensed practical nurse for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin. Mr. Boyd was an army veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Elizabeth Boyd of Dublin; two daughters, Jennifer Boyd McLeod of Tennille and Melisa Blalock-Allday of Patterson, Ga; son, James Dennis Boyd IV of Springfield; grandchildren, Mac LcLeod, Lillie McLeod, Brittany White, Catherine Boyd, Ethan Boyd, Alexander Boyd, Christopher Alligood, Phillip Horne, Dyona Velie and Joseph Oliver;great grandson, Phillip Horne Jr.; sister, Sandra Bird of Douglas; brothers, Michael Boyd and Ike Boyd both of Tennille.
The family suggest donations be made to Parkinson’s Support Group, 2708 West Terrace Drive, Augusta, Georgia 30909.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
