Mr. David Earl Trussell, Sr, age 67, of Sandersville died on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 15 at Sisters Baptist Church in Sandersville with burial in Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Jason Loggins, Reverend Michael Petty and Reverend Bert Parker will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Thomas “Tadpole” Pulliam, Hillary Burgamy, Josh Bunch, Ashley Turner, Tim Adams and Aaron Johnson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Sisters Baptist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class.

Mr. Trussell was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Roy Everett Trussell and the late Betty Hodges Trussell.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Trussell.  He received his Associates degree from Abraham Baldwin College and his Bachelor’s degree in Business and Personnel Management from the University of Georgia.  Mr. Trussell was a retired insurance sales representative for Horace Mann Insurance Company.   He was a former owner of Ostasco Home and Auto Store.  Mr. Trussell was an active member of Sisters Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member and a member of the Sisters Quartet.  He was also a member of Gideon’s International and served on the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.

Survivors are his wife, Patricia B. Trussell of Sandersville; sons, David Earl Trussell, Jr. and his wife Donell of Sandersville and Albert Roy “Al” Trussell and his wife Robin of Sandersville; grandchildren, Leann Trussell Bunch and her husband Josh, Breanna Trussell, Rose Trussell, Jessie Trussell, Clark Trussell, Nate Trussell and Everlee Dalton; great-grandchildren, Lillian Bunch and Jamison Bunch; brother, Kenny Trussell and his wife Carol of Sandersville; sister-in-law, Sandra Williford of Tennille; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
