Mr. Warren Gilmore Jones, age 83, of Sandersville died on Monday, August 24, 2020 in Dublin following an extended illness.
A memorial service for Mr. Jones will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 29 at 1290 Twin Rivers Road, Greensboro, Georgia 30642. Reverend Tony Mimbs will officiate.
Mr. Jones was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Ray Gilmore Jones and the late Grace Tanner Jones. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jeanette Jones Snider, Martina Jones Hodges, Betty Jones Upshaw, Danny Jones, and Jimmy Jones. Mr. Jones was a graduate of Sandersville High School and attended Middle Georgia College and the University of Georgia. He was a retired real estate broker and real estate appraiser. Mr. Jones served in the United States Navy. He was of the Baptist faith. Warren enjoyed fishing and working in his garden, and he truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors are his wife, Judy Dent Jones of Sandersville; a daughter, Melissa Jones Patterson and her husband James of White Plains; a step daughter, Amanda Peavy and her husband Stacy of Deepstep; a step son, Rusty Chalker and his wife Tracie of Aiken, SC; a granddaughter, Taylor P. Waters and her husband Chris; four step grandsons, Cole Peavy, Ty Peavy, Marx Mills and Jaxon Mills; a sister, Linda McDaniel of Sandersville; a brother, Wilbur Jones and his wife Audrey of Sandersville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Inn of Sandersville, Augusta University of Augusta, and Serenity Place of Dublin for the excellent care shown to Warren during his illness.
