Mrs. Margaret J. Jones, of Betty Street in Sandersville, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home. A graveside funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 14th at 3:00 P.M. in Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate.

Mrs. Jones was born and reared in Washington County, one of seven siblings, to the late Thomas Clinton Jones and the late Mamie Brantley Jones. She and her late husband made their home in Hialeah, Florida for many years where they raised their family. Mrs. Jones enjoyed cooking and sharing it with family many close friends and neighbors. After retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Jones returned home to Washington County where she worked as a salesclerk for Family Dollar as well as Maxway. She was an active and loyal member of her childhood church, Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was always full of humor, loving to laugh and she was always willing and wanting to serve others. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell William Jones, Sr.

Survivors include, her children, Russell William Jones, Jr. and his wife Melany, of Waynesboro, Gloria Jones Hall and her husband Emmitt, of Deepstep and Cheryl Jones Hodges, of Sandersville; grandchildren, Clint Hall and his wife Gail, of Savannah, William Hall and his wife Jayna of Tennille, Carlton Jones and his wife Lisa, of Atlanta, Dr. Baxter Jones, Sr. and his wife Ginny, of Champagne IL., Brian Hodges and his wife Jennifer, Daniel Hall and his wife Grace Anne and Paul Hodges and his wife Anna Katherine, all of Sandersville; and great grandchildren, Rachel Hall, Blake Hall, Maclaine Hall, Liam Hall, Sawyer Hall, Baxter Jones Jr., Hallie Jones, Devere Jones, Charlotte Hodges, Gracen Hodges, Bennett Hall, Harmony Hodges and Liam Hodges.
