Mr. Herschel Darrisaw passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia. Graveside funeral services were held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Burnett Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church with Reverend Amos Darrisaw officiating.

Mr. Darrisaw was born on September 1, 1937 to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Earlie Darrisaw and the late Ms. Odessa Cason. He was born and raised in Washington County, Georgia. At an early age he moved to Gainesville, Georgia. There he met and married the late Mrs. Annie Nell Darrisaw. The two were married for over fifty (50) years until her death. Mr. Darrisaw found a life that he loved while living in Gainesville. He loved to entertain and help people, travel, and drive during trips. He was employed at South Eastern Construction and later Carnes Construction Company in Gainesville, Georgia. After his health began to fail, he moved back to Sandersville, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ms. Dessie Lee Dent; four brothers, Mr. W.T. Darrisaw, Mr. Etemus Darrisaw, Mr. Curtiss Darrisaw, Mr. Irvin Darrisaw; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Darrisaw.

Mr. Darrisaw leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Ms. Cynthia Diana Bloodsaw, Sandersville, Georgia; one son, Mr. John Pete Glaspher, Gainesville, Georgia; two daughters that he raised as his own, Ms. Annie Lee Tanner, Gainesville, Georgia and Ms. Nikia Carter, Biloxi, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Mrs. Shantina (Cedric) Bloodsaw-Watson, Mr. Antonio (Twaney) Bloodsaw, Mr. Lamont Bloodsaw, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Melanie Bloodsaw, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Deven Carter, Ms. Olivia Carter, Biloxi, Mississippi; eleven siblings, Ms. Blossie McBride, Ms. Dearest Williams, Ms. Reda Thomas, Mrs. Karen (Dennis) Harper, Mrs. Crecynthia Williams, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Lovie McBryde, Greensboro, North Carolina, Ms. Cherry Rudean Terry, Gainesville, Georgia, Mr. John Jay (Gloria) Darrisaw, Gainesville, Georgia, Pastor Amos (Dr. Lori) Darrisaw, Snellville, Georgia, Ms. Brenda Gail Hurst, Tennille, Georgia, and Mr. Willie “Jabo” Sanders, Milledgeville, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Carolyn Darrisaw, Tennille, Georgia; devoted nephews, Mr. Jerome (Berneda) Darrisaw and Mr. Derek Thomas; son-in-law, Mr. Larry Bloodsaw; devoted friends, Mr. Allen Tanner, Mr. Maurice Tanner, Ms. Betty Jean Tanner, Mr. Charles Sims, and Ms. Diann L. John; and a host of other relatives and friends.
