Robert Craig Hollingsworth, age 59, of Sandersville passed away at his residence. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sandersville United Methodist Church. Reverend Stan Littleton will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the Heritage Hall at the church.

Craig was born and reared in Chicago, Illinois where he attended school and was a member of the Guardsmen drum and bugle corp. In 1976, Craig’s family relocated to Sandersville where he continued his love of music at theWashington County High School, playing the sousaphone, tuba, and base. Craig attended Georgia College and State University and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business. He continued his education and obtained his master’s degree from Kennesaw State University. Craig spent his working career in the Kaolin Industry with Burgess Pigment Company as Quality Assurance Manager. He attended the Sandersville United Methodist Church, where he formerly sang in the adult choir. Craig was a member of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge #58, Sandersville Lions Club, and a former active member of the Washington County Jaycees, where he was instrumental in reestablishing the Washington County Fair. He loved to golf and was a former member of the Twin City Country Club, also formerly serving as a board member. Craig loved to hunt and fish, and was known as an independent person with a wonderful sense of humor, often playing jokes on family and friends. Craig is predeceased by his brother, Mark David Hollingsworth.

He is survived by his parents, Rabon “Ray” and Brenda Hicks Hollingsworth of Cumming; brother, Scot Hollingsworth and his wife Julie also of Cumming; nephews, Allen Grant and Rabon Hollingsworth; niece, Lindsey Grant; and numerous extended family members.
