
Mrs. Mable Duggan Turner, age 94, of Club Forest Drive in Tennille peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, surrounded by her family following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 8th at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Zeta Cemetery. Reverend Mark Jones will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Chalker, Blake Henry, Mack Henry, Don Roberson, and Butch Sullivan. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Turner was born and reared in Davisboro, the daughter of the late T.J. Duggan and the late Callie Bell Logue Duggan. She locally graduated high school and soon-after began her working career as a phone operator for Southern Bell in Macon. Mable would retire as a customer service representative with AT&T. Mrs. Turner was a long-time member of the Tennille Baptist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday School and participated in the church Woman’s Missionary Union. She was an avid gardener and former member of the Tennille Garden Club with over 1,100 azaleas that she lovingly cared for in her yard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her sister, Tommie D. Chalker Elton.
Survivors include her daughter, Jayne Turner Jones and her husband Danny of Tennille; grandchildren, Kasey J. Henry and her husband Mack of Gray and Adam Jones and his wife Nikki of Eatonton; great-grandchildren, Taylor Thomas, MacKenzie Thomas, Raylee Henry, Blake Henry, Addison Jones, Aiden Jones and Avery Jones; and siblings, John Duggan and his wife Barbara of Tennille and Callie D. Sullivan and her husband Butch of Sandersville.
