Arthur Clay Hood, age 52, of Deepstep passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 16, 2022. A graveside memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Smyrna Church Cemetery of Deepstep. Reverend Stan Ballew will officiate.
Mr. Hood was born on February 14, 1969, the son of the late Eulie Vaughn Hood and the late Janice King Hood Hobbs. He was reared in Deepstep and would remain a resident for all his life. Clay was a 1987 graduate of Brentwood School. His entire working career was spent in the Kaolin Industry performing maintenance for Thiele Kaolin Company. Mr. Hood loved to hunt and read, especially books about history. Clay loved animals and possessed an innate ability to train horses. He was a member of Deepstep United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Stephanie Coley Hood; brother, Ryan Hood and wife Kelly; and niece, Evie Grace Hood all of Deepstep.
