Mrs. Martha Lynn Shurling, age 84, of Sandersville passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center Extended Care Facility following an extensive illness. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 28 in the Zeta Cemetery of Tennille. Reverend Scott Mathews and Coy Hollingshead will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
Mrs. Shurling was born in Davisboro, the daughter of the late Kenneth McNeely, Sr. and Willie Jernigan McNeely. She was a graduate of the Sandersville High School. Martha was employed as a career Bookkeeper for Central Packing Company and Childre Chevrolet. Mrs. Shurling was a longtime member of the Ohoopee Baptist Church and served her church in various roles. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Martha was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of fifty-seven years, Charles Shurling; and siblings, Brock McNeely, Jane M. Woodard, Kenneth McNeely, Earl McNeely, and Lois Glover.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim Seals and husband Greg of Milledgeville and Judy Shurling of Tennille; grandchildren, Danielle Hollinshead and husband Coy of Milledgeville, Keith Rhodes and wife Whitney of Sandersville, and Matthew Tanner and wife Alyson; great-grandchildren, Sadie Hollinshead, Scout Hollinshead, Flint Hollinshead, Harry Rhodes, Sheppard Rhodes, Beau Rhodes, Abi Tanner, Adam Tanner, and Avery Tanner.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Ohoopee Baptist Church, P.O. Box 313 Tennille, Georgia 31089.
