Mrs. Rachel Smith Howell of East Dublin passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 18 at 2:30 P.M. in the Greater Macedonia Missionary North Baptist Church of Dublin. Reverend Frank Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery of Dublin.
Mrs. Howell was born on December 4, 1971, to the late Benita Poole Wright and the late Henry Smith, Jr. She attended the public schools of Laurens and Washington Counties. Rachel was a lifelong public servant in the restaurant industry. Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her daughter, Josephina Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Moreo Howell; sons, Raphaell Smith and wife Jameisha of Dublin and Jeremy Middlebrooks of Italy; daughter, Sha’Tyr-one’ Kelsey and partner Amber of Milledgeville; sister, Kimberly Hester and partner Brian Rozier of Dublin; brothers, Shannon Adkins and wife Shawana of Dublin and Christopher Jeanette and wife Gabrielle of Sandersville; four stepsisters; four stepbrothers; grandfather, Bennie Poole and wife Grace of Roosevelt, New York; devoted aunt, Sarah Dixon of Sandersville; host of friends, Sehbrenah Kuhn, Skeetha Bloodsaw, Sekeya Cuyler, Jamaica Stephens; grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Raphael, Noelle, Noah, Averie, and Kennedy; mother-in-law, Shelia Howell; brother-in-law, Rodrecus Jackson; sister-in-law, Laquata Ford, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
