Mr. Lee Lewis Hicks, Sr., age 80, of Glenview, Illinois passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 1:00 P.M in the Buckeye Baptist Church of East Dublin. The body will lie in state at the Church from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12th from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the L.M. Pierce Funeral Home
Mr. Hicks was born on May 10, 1942, in Wrightsville, the son of the late Abe Hicks Sr. and the late Eva Carswell Hicks. He was beloved and known for his storytelling and ability to make others laugh. Lee enjoyed taking long walks, listening to gospel music, and eating home-cooked meals. Mr. Hicks participated in an active lifestyle, completing over 10 Chicago Marathons. He most cherished his time spent with his family. Lee is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille Hicks; daughter, Sheila Hicks; and siblings, Abe Hicks, Jr., Lee Wesley Hicks, Aileen Darrisaw, Essie Mae Warthen, and Lessie Mae Hicks.
Survivors include his daughter, Tanya Marie Hicks of Chicago, Illinois; son, Lee Lewis Hicks Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; granddaughter, Tanea Marie Crawford of Chicago, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
