Mrs. Naomi Cumming Smith departed this life on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Washington County Extended Care Facility. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Second Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born on April 29, 1946 to the parentage of the late Mr. James O. Cummings and the late Mrs. Hattie Julia Kitchens-Cummings.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend to many. She loved the Lord and was always spreading the good news about Jesus. She was a great cook, caterer and most of all a seamstress. She loved gardening and her flowers. Mrs. Smith worked for many years as a sewing machine operator at several sewing factories, including William Carter Company until her retirement.
Mrs. Smith was a faithful member and president of the Usher Board at New Light Christian Fellowship Church until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. John E. Smith; daughter: Ms. Tyeisha Sha’Bria Smith; son: Mr. Cleveland Smith; brother: Mr. Lenwood Cummings: sisters: Mrs. Lois C. Davis and Ms. Bobbie Webb.
Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter: Ms. Emily Louise Robinson (David James), Warthen, GA; grandchildren: Ms. Ke’yana K. Brookins, Sandersville, GA, Ms. Briauna P. Smith, Raleigh, NC, Mr. Zacharie Robinson, Mr. Ke’Moni Smith, Warthen, GA; great grandchildren: Ky’Vion Reese, Teryn Flonnory, Sandersville, GA; honorary granddaughter: Mrs. Keyellow (Phillip) Johnson, Sandersville, GA; sisters: Ms. Lena T. Smith, Macon, GA, Ms. Bernice Tucker, Mrs. Rosena (Hubert) Powell, Warthen, GA; brother: Mr. John K. Cummings, Warthen, GA; sisters-in-law: Ms. Reva Steele, Ms. Sylvia Smith, Ms. Cornelia Walker, Macon, GA, Ms. Dora L.
