Mr. John Erwin Leverett, age 80, of Tennille died on Saturday July 6, 2019 at his residence.
A memorial service for Mr. Leverett will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 8, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Reverend Brian Welch will officiate.
Mr. Leverett was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Amida Leverett and the late Lucille Gladin Leverett. He was the husband of the late Louise Jackson Leverett and was preceded in death by his siblings: E. A. Leverett, Jr., Jim Leverett, George Leverett and Bob Leverett. Mr. Leverett was a former supervisor for Washington Manufacturing Company and was the owner of Leverett’s Wrecker Service.
Survivors include: his daughters, Faye Leverett of Sandersville and Janice Leverett Dominy of Tennille; two grandchildren, Tiffany Dominy Fogle and her husband Paul and Brooke Dominy; a great grandson, Bane Fogle; his siblings, Margaret Ivey, Jere Leverett and his wife Becky, Bessie Tanner, Gladys Akins, Evelyn Kelley, Floyd Leverett and his wife Carol, and Ann Deal all of Milledgeville; a sister in law, Catherine Leverett of Sandersville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
